RAJSHAHI, April 21, 2022 (BSS) - Rajshahi University (RU) has opened the degree-awarded thesis collected and preserved in its central library in the online digital repository website.
 
 Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar launched the initiative at the library today before teachers and officials concerned.

 Pro-vice-chancellors Prof Chowdhury Jakaria and Prof Sultan-Ul-Islam, Treasurer Prof Obaidur Rahman Pramanik and Library Administrator Prof Habibur Rahman were present.

 At present, 1,757 thesis of PhD, M.Phil and Masters were kept preserved in the repository. More other significant thesis will be added to the website in the days to come.

 Prof Habibur Rahman told the meeting that RU had taken the decision of making the library digitized in 2014. From now on, anyone can see the thesis through clicking the RUCL Institutional Repository link after entering into the website of the university.

 Speaking on the occasion, VC Prof Sabbir Sattar said there are scores of research in the university and the initiative will play a vital role towards spreading the research in the national and international arena.

 He mentioned that the ICT has been playing an important role in the country's education system and the present initiative will play a pioneering role to project RU Library as a world-class library.

 Prof Sattar urged all the teachers, architects and officials concerned to devise ways and means on how to make the library more modern and time-fitting.
