CUMILLA, April 21, 2022 (BSS) - A total of 25 students of small ethnic groups of Lalmai upazila of the district were given scholarships and bicycles as a gift from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today.
 
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sajia Afroz handed over the gifts among the students at Alishwar Shanti Niketan Buddhist Monastery of the upazila at a function this morning.

It was a special gift of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the small ethnic groups living in the plains except the hilly areas on her own initiative to integrate the small ethnic groups into the mainstream of the society, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sajia Afroz told BSS.

Abul Bashar, Chairman of Perul North Union, Babu Jyotish Singh Khokon, President of Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad of Lalmai Upazila, Bimal Singh and Nazir Babu Ratan Singh, among others, were present on the occasion.
