SAVAR, April 12, 2022 (BSS) - A daylong workshop on 'Data Analysis, Scientific Writings and Publication was held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) here today.

The workshop, organized by the renowned entomologist Prof Dr.Kabirul Bashar of Jahangirnagar University under the research project of the higher research program in the education sector under the Ministry of Education

The workshop was organized to engage university students in research and to enhance their skills in research, essay writing and publication. JU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq inaugurated the workshop as chief guest.

Chairman of JU Zoology Department Prof Monirul Hasan Khan presided over the programme while JU Treasurer Prof Dr Rasheda Akhtar, Dean of Biological  Sciences Faculty Prof Dr Abdul Jabbar Hawladar and JU Acting Registrar Rahima Kaneez were present as special guests.

Professor Kabirul Bashar delivered the welcome address and explained the purpose of the workshop.
He said that through this workshop, students will gain special experience in data analysis and publishing research in international journals and studying abroad.

Addressing the inaugural session, JU Pro VC Sheikh Md. Monzurul Huq said, "Students participating the workshop can gain proper knowledge about the importance of data analysis in publishing the results of their research. Everyone can build a good career by doing research and studying abroad without running after the BCS exam. I think that the knowledge gained from this workshop will be used in future research and publications.

Three eminent scientists provided training in the workshop.
Dr.Khandoker Zulfiqar Rahman, Associate Professor of JU Zoology Department spoke on Biological Data Analysis and Interpretation.

Assistant Professor of BGC Trust University Dr Talha Bin Imran spoke about hands-on training on research essay writing techniques and writing methods

Dr.Shahiduzzaman Sohail, a renowned Japanese scientist and Assistant Professor of Kanazawa University of Japan trained on how to publish research articles in internationally renowned journals  

About 70 students and teachers of different departments of Jahangirnagar University participated in the training workshop.
