DHAKA, April 5, 2022 (BSS) - The government has decided to keep the schools
and colleges open till April 20 instead of April 26 with Friday and Saturday
as holidays during the holy month of Ramadan.
 
The decision was taken on Monday at a meeting of the Education Ministry, said
a release today signed by Deputy Secretary of Education Ministry Md Noor-e-
Alam.
 
In-person classes would be conducted during Ramadan following health safety
guidelines to minimize the academic losses of students, caused by the long
closure of schools and colleges due to the outbreak of the Covid-19
pandemic,said the release.  
 
Regarding universities, the ministry said necessary instructions have been
provided to the universities asking them to conduct their academic activities
as per the decision of syndicates and academic councils.   
 
Earlier in a notice on March 28, the ministry requested high school and
college authorities to continue in-person classes till April 26 to cover the
learning gaps caused by the pandemic.
