KUSHTIA, March 20, 2022 (BSS) – Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumdar here today urged rice traders not to do politics with prices of rice. 

He was speaking as the chief guest at  a view exchange meeting with the mill owners, wholesalers, retailers of rice, DCs and food controllers in the south western districts in the country at the Conference Room of Deputy Commissioner of Kushtia this noon.

Sadhan Chandra also urged traders to keep prices of rice stable. He hoped the prices of rice will go down in the coming Ramadan. 

Earlier, the minister visited Khajanagar, an area reputed for rice cultivation, in Kushtia. 

Secretary to the Food Ministry Dr. Mosammat Nazmanara Khanum, Director General of the Directorate General of Food Shakwat Hossain, Additional Police Super Atikul Islam, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Ataur Rahman, district AL President and Secretary Sadar Uddin Khan and Ali Ajgor were present.
