CHATTOGRAM, March 18, 2022 (BSS) - Alhaj Golam Kabir Talukder, uncle of
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and former chairman of
Padua Union Parishad (UP) under Rangunia upazila of the district, died at his
Sukhbilas village residence around 2.30 am today.

He was 96.

Golam Kabir, one of the organisers of the Liberation War, is the existing
president of the Padua Union AL under Rangunia upazila. He left behind his
wife, three sons, two daughters and a host of admirers and relatives to mourn
his death.

Dr Hasan Mahmud, joint general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League (AL), is
the son of the veteran AL leader's elder brother late Advocate Nuruchchafa
Talukdar.

The Information and Broadcasting Minister expressed deep shock and sorrow at
the death of Alhaj Golam Kabir Talukder.
 
He will be buried at their family graveyard next to his elder brother
Advocate Nuruchfa Talukder after a Namaz-e-Janaza that will be held on the
premises of Sukhbilas High School in Rangunia after Asr prayers today, family
sources said.
