Dhaka University gets 2 buses from City bank, Ifad autos

   DHAKA, March 16, 2022 (BSS) - City Bank and Ifad autos have gifted two

buses for the students of Dhaka University on the occasion of birth centenary
of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.   

   Chairman of City Bank Aziz Al Kaiser and Chairman of IFAD Autos Iftekhar
Ahmed Tipu today handed over the keys of the buses to DU Vice Chancellor Dr
Md Akhtaruzzaman at a ceremony at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building
on the campus.  

  DU Pro-VC (Academic) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, DU Pro-VC (Administration) Dr
Mohammad Samad, Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission
Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Managing director and chief executive
officer of city bank Mashrur Arefin, among others, were present on the
occasion.  

  After handing over the keys, City Bank chairman Aziz Al Kaiser brought out
an announcement of providing scholarship for the poor and meritorious
students of the university. Under the project, 200 students will be provided
a stipend of taka 5,000 per month for two years.  

  DU VC thanked and extended its gratitude to City bank and IFAD autos for
their support and urged the organizations to come forward with such
cooperation in the coming days.  

  Aziz Al Kaiser said the university has been playing pioneering role in the
development of each sectors of the country by providing skilled manpower. "We
feel proud to cooperate with the university and we are willing to do
something bigger in the future," he said.

   Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu said, "We have commenced a new journey with Dhaka
University by offering a bus, though it is not a big deal but we are happy
with this. We will try to make this relation stronger in future", he added.
