DHAKA, Feb 28, 2022 (BSS) - A court here today sent a house tutor to 
jail in a case lodged over rape of his school-going student in capital's 
Kafrul area.

     Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid passed the order, sending 
accused Shawkat Alam to jail as police produced him before the court and 
pleaded to keep him behind the bars till conclusion of probe in the case.

     The court also set March 20 for submitting probe report in the case.

     According to the case documents, Shawkat went to the house of the victim 
like always to give her lesson. But suddenly the girl came out running to her 
mother, crying and bleeding. Later the child narrated her ordeal to her 
mother.

     She was later admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment 
and a case was filed with Kafrul Police Station in this connection.
