Multi-storied buildings to be constructed in country for enhancing women’s skills: Indira

DHAKA, Feb 16, 2022 (BSS) –State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira today said multi-storied buildings including working women's hostels and day-care centers will be constructed aiming to train and enhance the skills of women in all districts and divisions of the country.

The state minister came up with the remarks online while distributing the ‘Best Joyeeta Reception’ among 10 winners of Sylhet and Rangpur divisions from the conference room of Bangladesh Shishu Academy here.

The government has set up women-friendly shopping malls to spread Joyeeta across the country, she said, adding that the small business and online-based e-commerce in the country have become successful due to the significant contribution of Joyeeta activities.

As a result, women are expressing their views and making decisions independently being financially well-off and self-reliance, she continued.

With Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Mosharraf Hossain in the chair, the award giving function was attended, among others, by secretary to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Anwar Hossain Hawladar, Director General (Additional Secretary) of the Department of Women Affairs Farida Pervin, Sylhet Range DIG Mofiz Uddin Ahmed and Police Commissioner (Sylhet) Md Nisharul Arif as special guests.
