DHAKA, Feb 10, 2022 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sentenced four people to death and fined them Taka 10 thousand each in a case lodged over murder of one Wasim in suburban Keraniganj in 2015. 

Dhaka Additional District and Sessions Judge Faijunnesa pronounced the judgement in presence of two convicts. 

The four convicts are Md Abdul Baten, Md Jahangir Alam, Md Palak Rahman and Pappu. 

Of the four, Baten and Palak are behind the bars and were present at the courtroom during the pronouncement of the judgment. 

According to the case documents, the four convicts brought Wasim to a local factory in Keraniganj on April 3, 2015, and slaughtered him after tying his hands and legs.

A case was filed over that incident. Police, after probing the case, filed a charge-sheet against the four. The court on January 24, 2021, framed charges against them and examined 17 out of total 24 witnesses on different hearing dates.
