DHAKA, Feb 8, 2022 (BSS) – Top officials of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and the Municipal Corporation of Indore today shared their experiences and expertise on solid waste management in their respective cities.        

The Indian Housing and Urban affairs ministry and High Commission here organized the knowledge-sharing virtual dialogue through a webinar, said a press release here.

During the webinar, Indore municipal corporation officials shared their waste collection methods, innovative practices and technologies adopted by them for efficient waste management.

 On the other hand, DNCC officials shared their best practices and discussed cooperation in the field of solid waste management and other municipal services.

DNCC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md Selim Reza led Bangladesh part’s dialogue which was also  attended by chief Engineer Brigadier General Md. Amirul Islam, Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore SM Sharif-ul Islam and other officials.
 
From the India side, the webinar was attended by the National Mission Director and Joint Secretary for Swacch Bharat Mission Roopa Mishra, Additional Commissioner of Indore Municipal Corporation Sandeep Soni among others.
 
Welcoming initiatives to take the cooperation forward Roopa Mishra said that India was delighted to engage with Bangladesh on such a topic as there is much scope for mutual learning.

Md. Selim Reza also welcomed the webinar, which is the first of its kind held between the two Municipal bodies, the release said.
