FENI, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Dr AZM Zahid Hossain today inspected the venue in Fulgazi as part of preparations for Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's visit to Feni on September 17.
The minister inspected the Fulgazi Pilot High School ground around 10pm and gave various directives on preparations for the stage and venue.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the distribution of Family Cards and Farmer Cards at the school ground in the afternoon of September 17.
Briefing reporters, Dr Zahid said the prime minister would first inaugurate a flood-control embankment and drainage project involving the Muhuri, Kahua and Selonia rivers in Parshuram in the morning.
He will then attend a tree-plantation programme at Begum Khaleda Zia Women's College before visiting his ancestral home, including the graves of his ancestors, he said.
In the afternoon, the prime minister will attend programmes at Fulgazi Pilot High School ground to distribute Family Cards to vulnerable people, Farmer Cards to farmers and allowances to religious leaders. He will also provide financial assistance to people unable to afford medical treatment and to meritorious students from poor families, Dr Zahid said.
The minister said the people of Feni would demonstrate their respect and affection for Begum Khaleda Zia and Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman during the prime minister's visit.
