Nurussafa Talukdar was an amicable personality: CCC Mayor

   CHATTOGRAM, Feb 2, 2021 (BSS) - Chattogram City Corporation (CCC)

Mayor M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that the late Advocate Nurussafa
Talukder was a kind, gentle and amicable personality.

   "Despite being a great lawyer, he never had ego. As a result, even
after death, today we have to remember him unconditionally. The new
generation could learn from his achievements. If we follow the path of
people like Nurussafa Talukdar, then we have also the potential to
become that kind of celebrity," he added.

   He was speaking as the chief guest at a memorial meeting of late
Advocate Nurussafa Talukder, former president of Greater Chattogram
District Bar Association and former public prosecutor (PP), on
Wednesday evening.

  Advocate Nurussafa Talukder Smriti Sangsad (NTSS) organized a
memorial meeting on the occasion of his 11th death anniversary, held
at Chattogram Press Club auditorium. Former President of Chattogram
District Bar Association Ibrahim Hossain Chowdhury Babul presided over
the function.

   Member Secretary of NTSS Advocate Nikhil Kumar Nath conducted the
function while Member of Bangladesh Bar Council Advocate Mujibul
Haque, Rangunia Upazila Chairman Swajan Kumar Talukder, former
President of Chattogram District Bar Association Chandan Das, former
General Secretaries Md. Zia Uddin, Advocate Abdur Rashid, Advocate
Ashok Kumar Das, incumbent General Secretary HM Zia Uddin and Rangunia
Upazila Awami League General Secretary Engineer Shamsul Alam Talukder,
among others, addressed the function as special guests.

   Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said people have come into the world to give
people something, to build and contributing something for others.

  "When we have gained a little fame, sometimes we understand
everything, no one understands more than me, I am everything.
Selfishness comes into us. This is what leads people to destruction.
Doing so often leads to humiliation. Advocate Nurussafa Talukder is
famous among us today because he did not have such arrogance," the
mayor added.

   The mayor said people remember those who have made a significant
contribution to society.

  Chowdhury Farid, General Secretary of Chattogong Press Club, Master
Aslam Khan, General Secretary of District Red Crescent, Advocate MA
Naser Chowdhury, Advocate Chandan Talukder, Humayun Rashid Rubel,
Rabiul Alam, Kazi Ektiar Uddin, Subhash Barua and President of
Rangunia Upazila Chhatra League Russell Rasu, among others, also
spoke.

  Marking the anniversary different social-cultural, religious and
political organizations arranged Qurankhawni, Doa and Milad Mahfil at
various places in Chattogram.

   Earlier, various social cultural and political organizations placed
floral wreaths at the grave of Advocate Nurussafa Talukdar at his
native village this morning.

   Besides, different social, religious and political organizations
arranged various programs including recitation of holy Quran, Doa and
Milad Mahfil, on the occasion.
