DHAKA, Aug 30, 2026, (BSS) - Four more children died of suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles symptoms to 967 between March 15 and August 30.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room disclosed the information in a press release here today.

It said 1,151 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected cases reached 156,829 between March 15 and August 30.

A total of 365 confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 19,218 since March 15.

Between March 15 and August 30, a total of 137,347 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 132,292 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Four people died of suspected measles in the past 24 hours, while a total of 868 children have died of suspected measles since March 15.

No one died of confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, while 99 people have died of confirmed measles since March 15.
