RAJSHAHI, Aug 29, 2026 (BSS)- Professor Mamun Ahmed, Chairman of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC), who is currently visiting the University of Rajshahi (RU), inspected several laboratories and other infrastructure development works today.
 
He inspected the Plasma Research Lab in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, along with several specialized laboratories of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the laboratory of the Department of Fisheries.
 
During this time, the Chairman informed about the UGC's initiatives regarding the modernization of the university's existing laboratories as well as the establishment of new specialized laboratories and the construction of infrastructure.
 
During the inspection, RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Faridul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellors Professor Abdul Alim and Professor Mamunur Rashid, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Kishoreganj University Professor Shafiur Rahman, Pro- Vice-Chancellor of Naogaon University Professor Tarikul Islam, Proctor Professor Mahbubur Rahman, teachers of the respective laboratories and chairmen of the departments were present.
