DHAKA, Jan 26, 2022 (BSS) - Professor Dr Sarker Md Noman and

Assistant Professor Md Abdus Sattar have been elected president and
general secretary of the Bangladesh Open University (BOU) Teachers'
Association for the next one year.

  The election was held on the university campus in Gazipur today,
maintaining the health guidelines while teachers contested in the
polls under three panels- 'Bangabandhur Adarshe Bishwashi Shikkhak
Forum', 'Jatiyatabadi Shikkhak Forum (one faction)' and 'Jatiyatabadi
Shikkhak Forum (another faction)', said a BOU press release here.

  'Bangabandhur Adarshe Bishwashi Shikkhak Forum' known as the
pro-Awami League teachers' forum swept the polls bagging all the posts
of the association.

   Other officer bearers are: Vice-President Professor Dr Md Jahangir
Alam, Joint-Secretary Rubaiya Rahman, Treasurer Asma Akter Shelly and
Cultural Affairs Secretary Nur Mohammad.

  Besides, Professor Sufiya Begum, Professor Dr Md Farid Hossain,
Professor Dr Soaib Ahmed, Professor Md Anwarul Islam, Dr Md Iqbal
Hossain, Dr Md Shahidur Rahman, Kamruzzaman, Shik Bishwash and Ariful
Islam have been elected executive members of the association.
