Bangladesh-US 9th LFT-2026 successfully concludes

DHAKA, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) - The two-day Bangladesh-US Ninth Land Forces Talks  (LFT) 2026 concluded successfully at the Conference Room of the Army Sports Control Board, Dhaka Cantonment on January 27, 2026.

The two-day meeting, starting from January 26 was conducted yesterday as a  follow-up to the Ninth Land Forces Talks (LFT) held in the United States on  September 8-10, 2025, said a release of Inter-Services Public Relations  (ISPR) Directorate this evening.   Representatives of the armies of both countries participated in this meeting  and fruitful discussions were held on various important issues with the aim  of enhancing mutual cooperation.

Led by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Badrul Haque of the Bangladesh Army's  Military Training Directorate, a 22-member delegation from Bangladesh  participated in the discussion.   Meanwhile, a-four-member delegation from the United States was led by Major  Michael Jacob Oster of the Security Cooperation Division of the United States  Pacific Army Command (USARPAC) took part the two-day meeting.

Director of the Military Training Directorate Brigadier General Md. Humayun  Kabir was present at the opening and closing ceremonies.

During this discussion, both sides discussed at length various aspects of  military cooperation, capacity building and strategic cooperation, the ISPR  said.

The discussion stressed on the importance of training exchange between the  two sides, increasing the ability to use advanced technology and military  equipment, and mutual cooperation.

The representatives reiterated for their interest in further strengthening  the ongoing strategic cooperation between the two countries' armies.

Both sides also agreed to make significant contributions to the regional  security system and take effective steps to jointly prepare for natural and  man-made disasters.

The discussions focused on technical assistance and preparedness to address  various global challenges, which will play an important role in maintaining  regional peace and security in the future, the ISPR added.

Earlier, the eighth Bangladesh-US Land Forces Talks (LFT) was held in  October, 2024.
