DHAKA, Aug 28, 2026 (BSS) - President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated his counterpart Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on assuming the Office of the President here. 

The Belarus President conveyed the greetings through a congratulatory letter issued from Minsk. 

In the message, President Lukashenko said, “I would like to express congratulations on your convincing victory in the elections of the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.” 

Belarus and Bangladesh have always been and remain friendly countries focused on developing constructive bilateral dialogue, he added. 

Minsk is ready to activate cooperation with Dhaka and bring Belarusian-Bangladeshi relations to a higher level, the message further said. 

“I look forward to your support and participation in working together to expand cooperation to strengthen ties in all areas. I wish you every possible success and achievements in a responsible public position, and I also assure you of my very high consideration,” the letter reads.
