KHULNA, Jan 11, 2025 (BSS) – Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna University (KU) Prof Dr Md Rezaul Karim has urged newly appointed teachers to remain above personal interests and work for the greater interest of the university.
He stressed the need for their active role in achieving university accreditation and said they must have a clear understanding of the Accreditation Council and the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF).
He made the remarks while inaugurating a five-day training programme for newly appointed lecturers of Khulna University as the chief guest this afternoon. The programme was organised by the university’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
The KU VC also emphasised the importance of adapting to new systems, fostering free thinking, and upholding laws, discipline and punctuality to take the university to new heights.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Harunur Rashid Khan, speaking as a special guest, said the newly recruited lecturers had been appointed through a transparent process. He called upon them to contribute to improving the university’s standard through merit and competence while remaining mindful of university rules and regulations amid rapid changes in knowledge, science and technology.
Treasurer Prof Dr Md Nurunnabi and IQAC Director Prof Dr Md Mostafizur Rahman chaired the programme, while Additional Director Prof Dr SM Touhidur Rahman delivered the welcome address. Deputy Registrar Md Nurul Islam Siddiquee conducted the programme.
After the inaugural session, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Rezaul Karim delivered a lecture as a resource person on “Professional Knowledge on the Teaching and Learning Process in Higher Education”, followed by sessions on Outcome-Based Education and Curriculum Development.
Newly appointed lecturers from different disciplines of Khulna University are participating in the five-day training programme.
