DHAKA, Dec 28, 2025 (BSS) – The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,371 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in the capital.
The DMP has been conducting a campaign against traffic violations in the city to bring the traffic system under proper management, according to a statement issued by the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman issued the statement here today.
The statement said that 281 motor vehicles were impounded and 82 vehicles were towed during the campaign on December 27.
The DMP release added that several traffic divisions carried out the campaign against traffic violators in the capital.
During the drives, the Motijheel Traffic Division filed 262 cases, the Wari Division registered 106 cases, the Tejgaon Division filed 156 cases, the Mirpur Division filed 177 cases, the Gulshan Division filed 309 cases, the Uttara Division registered 205 cases, the Ramna Division filed 40 cases and the Lalbagh Division registered 116 cases against motor vehicles as well as three-wheelers and motorcycles, it said.
