DHAKA, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) today announced a preliminary list of candidates for 125 constituencies ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.

Member Secretary Akhtar Hossen unveiled the list at a press briefing at the party's temporary office in the capital's Banglamotor this morning.

According to the announcement, NCP Convener Nahid Islam will contest from Dhaka-11, while Akhtar himself has been nominated for Rangpur-4.

Akhtar said, "The candidate list has been prepared to reflect people from all sections of the country, including both men and women. If any complaint is raised by the public regarding any candidate, the NCP will review it and cancel the nomination if necessary."

NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary has been nominated for Dhaka-18. Chief Organiser (North) Sarjis Alam will run from Panchagarh-1 and Chief Organiser (South) Hasnat Abdullah from Cumilla-4.

Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Jara has been nominated for Dhaka-9, while Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud will contest from Noakhali-6.

Before the announcement, Nasir Uddin Patwary, heads the NCP's election steering committee, said the party was gearing up to launch a 'ballot revolution' in the upcoming polls.

He urged voters to support the 'Yes' option in the referendum to be held alongside the election and instructed candidates to campaign both for the NCP's electoral symbol, the 'Shapla Koli', and a 'Yes' verdict.

Patwary added that the NCP remains open to individuals who may have been marginalised within their parties due to financial influence yet still retain public trust.

Tasnim Jara, member secretary of the election steering committee, said more than 1,500 people collected nomination forms after the process was made fully open to the public. She added that the final list would bring notable departures from traditional candidate selection practices.
