DHAKA, Dec 13, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizens Party (NCP) Convener Md Nahid Islam today said there would be 'not a single inch of forgiveness' for those who destroyed the country, institutionalized repression, and killed thousands of people.

In a Facebook post last night, Nahid said, "Brother Hadi, we couldn't protect you. You stood up for this country and we failed you. You risked your life for July, for dignity and justice. And we failed to unite the July generation."

"We couldn't keep them together. We lost time. We made political mistakes. And people paid the price. In July, our brothers and sisters were killed. They did not die for power, parties, or positions. They were killed because they challenged fascism. We will not walk away from July," he said.

Nahid said the party was under pressure and hurt, but remained determined. "We are still standing and will continue this struggle so that your child and every child in this country can live with dignity," he said.

"We take responsibility for our failure. We admit that in the last year and a half we did not do what history demanded of us. But retreat is not an option," he added.

Quoting the injured leader Hadi, Nahid said justice must be served even toward enemies, but reiterated that there would be no forgiveness for fascists.

"Come back to us, brother. Come back to the people and the movement you stood for. We are waiting. We may lose our lives, but we will not give up in July," Nahid wrote.

Osman Hadi was seriously injured by motorcycle-riding miscreants in the capital's Bijoynagar Box Culvert area on Friday. He is now undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
