BNP announces candidates for 36 more constituencies

DHAKA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced candidates for 36 more constituencies, in addition to the previously declared 237 seats, for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election.

Party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the names of the candidates at a press conference held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan this afternoon.

Among the newly announced candidates, Abdus Salam will contest from Thakurgaon-2, A.K.M. Kamruzzaman from Dinajpur-5, Zahidul Islam Dhalu from Naogaon-5 and Md. Anwarul Islam from Natore-3.

Selim Reza will run from Sirajganj-1, M. Iqbal Hossain from Jashore-5, Monirul Islam from Narail-2, Amir Ejaz Khan from Khulna-1, Mohammad Shahidul Alam Talukder from Patuakhali-2, Zainal Abedin from Barishal-3 and Rafiqul Islam Jamal from Jhalokathi-1.

In addition, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku has been nominated for Tangail-5, Abu Wahab Akhand Walid for Mymensingh-4, Md. Mazharul Islam for Kishoreganj-1, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Iqbal for Kishoreganj-5, S.A. Jinnah Kabir for Manikganj-1 and Md. Kamruzzaman for Munshiganj-3.

Hamidur Rahman will contest from Dhaka-7, Habibur Rashid from Dhaka-9, Sheikh Robiul Alam from Dhaka-10, M.M. Jahangir Hossain from Dhaka-18, Md. Mojibur Rahman from Gazipur-1, Md. Harun-or-Rashid from Rajbari-2, Khandaker Nasirul Islam from Faridpur-1, Nadira Akhter from Madaripur-1, Jahandar Ali Khan from Madaripur-2, Nasir Hossain Chowdhury from Sunamganj-2, Nurul Islam from Sunamganj-4, Ariful Haque Chowdhury from Sylhet-4, Reza Kibria from Habiganj-1, Md Selim Bhuiyan from Cumilla-2, Mostafa Kamal Pasha from Chattogram-3, Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury from Chattogram-6, Mohammad Abu Sufian from Chattogram-9, Nazmul Mostafa Amin from Chattorgram-15 and Alamgir Mahfuz Ullah Farid from Cox’s Bazar-2. 
  
“We are announcing names in another 38 constituencies, and around 28 still remain,” Mirza Fakhrul said.

About the remaining seats, he said some seats will be allocated to alliance partners and a few pending decisions will be declared later. The rest will be announced in due course, he added.

BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan was also present at the event.
