GAIBANDHA, MARCH 26, 2024 (BSS) – Shah Sarwar Kabir, MP in a 
function here today urged the freedom fighters to get united to materialize 
the dreams of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman 
through turning Bangladesh into Sonar Bangla side by side building Smart 
Bangladesh by 2041.

He also called upon the freedom fighters to be alert and cautious as the anti-
liberation forces and their collaborators are still alive as they are making 
conspiracies against the country and its development process of the 
government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“The freedom fighters are the greatest and the best sons of the soil and they 
must be given due respect and honour in all spheres of the society,” he said. 

He made the comments while addressing a reception to the freedom fighters 
and the members of the martyred families at Sultana Kamal Indoor Stadium 
of the town here this morning around 10.30 am as the chief guest. 

District administration arranged the function in cooperation with Zila 
Parishad as part of the programmes on the celebration of the Great 
Independence and National Day-2024 with deputy commissioner (DC) Kazi 
Nahid Rasul in the chair.

Superintendent of police (SP) Md Kamal Hossain, president of district 
Awami League Abu Bakar Siddique, Civil Surgeon Dr. Abdullahel Mafi, 
principal of Gaibandha Government College Professor Khalilur Rahman, 
renowned freedom fighter Wasikar Md. IkbalMazu, mayor of Gaibandha 
Municipality Matlubour Rahman and FF MahmudulHaqueShahzada spoke 
at the event as the special guests.
