1st death anniversary of journo Reaz Uddin Ahmed tomorrow

 
DHAKA, Dec 24, 2022 (BSS) – The first death anniversary of eminent journalist and Editor Reaz Uddin Ahmed is tomorrow.
 
On this day last year, he passed away at the age of 77 due to Coronavirus.
 
Late Reaz Uddin Ahmed was the founding Chief Editor of Financial Express and was the founder editor and publisher of News Today and Financial Herald.
 
He was a four-time president of the National Press Club and served twice as the president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).
 
Reaz Uddin was the Chairperson of the South-Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) and a member of the Bangladesh Press Council.
 
Throughout his career, he championed freedom of the press and the rights of journalists and made an invaluable contribution to democratic movements.
 
He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1993 for his outstanding contribution to journalism and national life.
 
Reaz Uddin Ahmed was born on 30 November in 1945 at Manohardi of Narsingdi.
 
On the occasion of the first death anniversary, his son economist Dr Masrur Reaz, on behalf of the deceased's family, has solicited everyone’s prayers for the eternal peace of Reaz Uddin’s departed soul.
