KHULNA, Dec 19, 2022 (BSS)-Vice-Chancellor of the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Prof Dr Mihir Ranjan Halder today said we are working tirelessly to turn the KUET as a world class prosperous, inquisitive and innovative university.

“Therefore, our aim is to bring this university to a high position in the world ranking as soon as possible,” he said while speaking at a meeting with local journalists at the conference room of KUET administrative building.

The newly appointed VC took charge on September 4 in 2022, after appointing by the Chancellor of the Universities of Bangladesh.

The VC Dr Mihir Ranjan said, ‘we would like to work unitedly with various global universities side by side with country’s different industrial institutions to enhance the research activities.

For this, more modern infrastructure, skilled manpower and world class research laboratories are necessary to achieve the goal, he said.

Describing development of ongoing various projects at KUET, the VC said, the government has already allotted Taka 838.36 crore to implement it.

He, however, said, accreditation works are ongoing to turn the KUET as global education standard.

KUET Pro-VC Prof Dr Sobhan Mia, Dean of different Faculties, Head of different departments and Registrar were present.

KUET has been turned as an engineering university in 2003 from Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Khulna.

Beginning with only 120 students under three departments, at least 6,628 students under 20 departments have been studying now in the university.
