LAKSHMIPUR, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) - Election symbols were allotted to 29 candidates contesting four parliamentary constituencies in Lakshmipur ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.
Lakshmipur Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner SM Mehedi Hasan allotted the symbols in a ceremony held at the office of the Returning Officer this morning.
Lakshmipur Superintendent of Police Abu Tarek, District Election Officer Md Abdur Rashid, candidates and their representatives were present.
In Lakshmipur-1 constituency (Ramganj), BNP candidate Shahadat Hossain Selim, NCP candidate Mahbub Alam and Islami Andolon candidate Zakir Hossain Patwari received their electoral symbols, while in Lakshmipur-2 constituency (parts of Sadar and Raipur), BNP’s Abul Khair Bhuiya and Jamaat candidate Master Ruhul Amin Bhuiya were allotted symbols.
In Lakshmipur-3 (Sadar) constituency, BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anne, Jamaat candidate Dr Rezaul Karim and Islami Andolon candidate Ibrahim Mia were allotted their electoral symbols.
In Lakshmipur-4 (Ramgati–Kamalnagar), BNP’s Ashraf Uddin Nizan, Jamaat’s AR Hafiz Ullah, Islami Andolon’s Khaled Saifullah, JSD’s Tania Rob, along with independent candidates got electoral symbols.
Lakshmipur has a total of 1,637,956 registered voters, including 847,291 male and 790,654 female voters. There are 496 polling stations and 3,037 polling booths in the district.
Deputy Commissioner SM Mehedi Hasan said the symbols were allotted in a festive atmosphere and that all preparations have been completed to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election in Lakshmipur.
