MADRID, Feb 16, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares

on Friday demanded a "clarification of the circumstances" of the death of
Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny in prison.

"Deeply shocked by the death of Alexei Navalny. We demand clarification of
the circumstances of his death, which occurred during his unjust imprisonent
for political reasons," Albares wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
