MUNSHIGANJ, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court of the district conducted a raid in an illegal fishing net manufacturing factory and seized around 42,000 reels of monofilament thread and approximately 5,000 square metres of illegal current nets.

The drive was conducted on Wednesday based on a tip-off at Dayal Bazar area under Panchasar union of Sadar upazila.

The operation continued from 3.00 pm until 11.30 pm, led by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Golam Mostafa.

Sadar Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Abul Hashem, Mukterpur Naval Police in-charge Md Abdul Mabud, and members of the naval and Sadar police also present there.

Sadar Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Abul Hashem said the seized illegal current nets and monofilament thread were burned and destroyed.
