NARSINGDI, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court today disconnected 92 illegal gas connections in Madhabdi Municipality area of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila and realized Tk 230,000 in fines.

The drive, conducted by the district administration, also filed seven cases under the Bangladesh Gas Act, 2010 and recovered Tk 350,000 in outstanding gas bills.

The illegal connections were identified in different areas of the municipality and disconnected during the operation. Fines were realized from those found violating the law, while outstanding bills were collected.

Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md Khalid Hossain Shimul conducted the mobile court.

The district administration said such drives will continue to prevent the misuse of government resources and revenue losses caused by illegal gas connections.
