CHATTOGRAM, Sept 2, 2026 (BSS) - In the past 24 hours, law enforcement has detained 399 individuals during anti-drug special operations and routine activities across 11 districts in the Chattogram Range, according to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) office of the Chattogram Range.
DIG Abdul Quddus Chowdhury of Chattogram Range reported that among the 399 arrests, 106 pertain to regular cases, 10 are under Section 34 of the Police Act, four under Section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 94 are based on warrants, and 18 are under sentence warrants.
Moreover, 167 individuals were arrested in connection with drug offenses. This group includes 64 drug dealers, five drug carriers, and 98 drug users.
He said the operation resulted in the seizure of 219,129 pieces of Yaba, 82 kg 414 grams of marijuana, 62 liters of liquor, and four bottles of beer.
Furthermore, 64 individuals have received various prison sentences through mobile courts as part of the anti-drug initiative. Concurrently, a total of Tk 8,520 has been collected in fines, and 22 drug-related cases have been registered in this context.
