RAJSHAHI, Sept 2, 2026 (BSS) - Divisional Commissioner Yusuf Ali has said that there is no shortage of fertilizer in Rajshahi division. 

The administration, Department of Agricultural Extension, BADC and concerned officials have been working in a coordinated manner to ensure supply of fertilizer according to the needs of farmers, he said. 
 
At the same time, the stock, supply and distribution of fertilizer must be monitored regularly so that none can create any artificial crisis or irregularities.
 
He said these while presiding over a special meeting held in his conference room to review the progress of the Prime Minister's priority programmes and ongoing development projects being implemented in Rajshahi division.
 
Heads of divisional offices and Deputy Commissioners of eight districts of Rajshahi division were present at the meeting. 

The meeting discussed the government's priority programmes, ongoing development projects and various issues related to public interest.
 
The Divisional Commissioner said that concerned parties must play a responsible role so that misleading or incomplete information about fertilizer does not create anxiety among the people concerned.
 
In case of information published in the media, the actual statistics of stock, allocation and distribution must be verified and correct information must be presented to the public.
 
He directed strict monitoring to ensure subsidized fertilizer reaches farmers properly and to prevent misuse, hoarding and smuggling. 
 
The meeting decided to closely monitor the activities of fertilizer dealers.
 
Emphasis was given on regularly verifying whether fertilizer is reaching the dealers' warehouses as per allocation and whether it is being properly distributed from the warehouses to real farmers.
 
Along with seasonal fertilizer supply according to farmers' demand, concerned parties were urged to make farmers aware of balanced fertilizer application and protecting soil health through the use of compost and organic materials.
 
The dengue situation was reviewed in the meeting and decision was taken to pay special attention to Chapainawabganj and Sirajganj.
 
It was informed in the meeting that 71 dengue patients were admitted to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital on Tuesday. 

Instructions were given to intensify destruction of Aedes mosquito breeding grounds, cleanliness drives, necessary larvicide and fogging, and public awareness programmes. The meeting attached importance to conducting mobile courts if necessary.
 
Emphasis was given on straightening accident-prone bends as much as possible during road widening, installing dividers as needed, and ensuring safe and sustainable communication.
 
The electricity supply situation was also discussed and instructions were given to inform the public in advance, if possible, in case of prolonged power outages and to increase coordination with the concerned authorities.
 
Emphasis was placed on regular monitoring and conducting mobile courts as needed to ensure shops and markets remain closed after 8 PM as per the time fixed by the government.
 
Instructions were given to quickly complete the process of collecting, verifying and approving information for farmer cards. 

It was informed in the meeting that the list of beneficiaries under the family card has been published in all concerned upazilas and no major complaints have been received.
 
Emphasis was placed on undertaking target-based activities in districts, upazilas, educational institutions and government offices to implement the programme of planting 25 crore trees in five years across the country.
 
In addition, instructions were given to further intensify anti-narcotics drives, stop drug smuggling and trafficking, and take coordinated initiatives for treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts.
 
The Divisional Commissioner said that all government departments must work on the basis of coordination and teamwork to further accelerate the development and welfare activities of Rajshahi division.
