CHATTOGRAM, Sept 2, 2026 (BSS) - The Department of Environment has ordered closure of 17 unauthorized brick kilns in Rangunia upazila here.

An operation led by Md. Mozahidur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Department of Environment, Chattogram District Office, came up with the order to shut the brick kilns operating without environmental clearance.

Meanwhile, the environment department has issued notices to the illegal facilities to stop operations in no time. 

Failure to adhere by the order will lead to legal actions, said Mozahidur Rahman.
