RANGPUR Aug 31, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in separate raids seized 111 grams of heroin and arrested three alleged drug peddlers from different places of Gaibandha and Rangpur districts on Sunday afternoon.

On a tip-off, a RAB-13 team from Gaibandha Camp in a raid seized four grams of heroin and arrested Golam Azam Pradhan, 22, son of Lebu Pradhan of Palashbari municipal area in Gaibandha from Maddhyapara village under Sadullapur police station of Gaibandha district.

In another raid, a team of RAB-13 from Rangpur seized 107 grams of heroin and arrested two persons including a woman from the Sheikhpara area in Rangpur city under Tajhat police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police.

The arrestees are Sohel Kawsar alias Rana, 35, son of late Sadequl Islam of village Baripara under Godagari police station of Rajshahi and Lucky Khatun, 45, wife of Rumon Mia of the Sheikhpara area under Tajhat police station of Rangpur city.

After filing two separate cases in these incidents, the elite force handed over the arrested persons and seized evidence to Sadullapur and Tajhat police stations, respectively, for further legal action, the release added.
