KHULNA, Aug 31, 2026 (BSS) – A total of 283 new dengu patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours in the division. During the period, 223 were admitted to government hospitals and 60 to private hospitals, according to the latest report of the health department.
No new death from dengue was reported in the division during the period, keeping the death toll unchanged at 20. Since January 1 this year, the total number of dengue cases in the division has reached 5,848. Of them, 4,954 patients have recovered and returned home, while 760 are currently undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
Besides, 114 patients have so far been referred to other healthcare facilities for better treatment. District-wise data show that Khulna district has recorded the highest number of dengue infections, with 2,023 cases reported so far.
More than 1,300 dengue patients have also been identified at Khulna Medical College Hospital. Health officials said the continued rise in dengue cases has become a matter of serious concern and urged people to remain alert and take preventive measures against the Aedes mosquito.
