KHULNA, Aug 24, 2026 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) today conducted a mobile court in the city as part of its ongoing crash programme to ensure cleanliness and strengthen mosquito control activities to prevent the spread of dengue.

On the sixth day of the mobile court operation, four people were fined Tk 13,000 in total for keeping their premises unhygienic and creating conditions conducive to mosquito breeding.

KCC Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Imran fined Md Mamun of Nabinagar in Ward No. 18 Tk 3,000 for keeping his house premises unclean.

Ashikur Rahman, a responsible official of Gazi Medical College Hospital, was fined Tk 5,000 as an area owned by the hospital was found in an unhygienic condition.

Barek Master, a resident of BK Cross Road, was fined Tk 2,000, while Md Imran, owner of a house behind Tablig Mosque in Ward No. 26, was fined Tk 3,000 for similar violations.

The fines were realised on the spot.

Besides, five house owners were made to submit written undertakings that they would clean their respective premises within the shortest possible time.

KCC officials said legal action is being taken against owners of houses and establishments where unhygienic conditions or mosquito breeding grounds are found within their premises as part of the corporation’s ongoing crash programme.

They urged city residents to remain vigilant and keep their surroundings clean to prevent mosquito breeding and avoid an unwanted situation.

Residents have also been advised to check regularly for stagnant water in bushes, discarded tyres, cans, eggshells, coconut shells, flower tubs, under wash basins, beside refrigerators and air conditioners, and on sunshades.

The mobile court was led by KCC Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Imran. Officials and employees of the KCC Conservancy Department and members of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) took part in the operation.

Meanwhile, the crash programme for mosquito control and cleanliness was conducted in Wards No. 26 and 31 from Monday morning.

KCC Waste Management Officer Md Ahiduzzaman Khan, social workers Arifuzzaman Apu, Aslam Hossain, Mahmudul Alam Babu Moral, Monirul Islam, Aminul Islam Bulbul and Sakhawat Hossain, among others, along with authorised officials of the respective wards, were present during the programme.

KCC authorities said the mobile court operations would continue in the public interest.
