Ctg restaurant fined Tk 100,000

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 24, 2026 (BSS) - A restaurant in city's Cheragi Pahar Mor of the Jamal Khan district has been fined Taka one lakh due to unsanitary conditions, a significant infestation of cockroaches of various sizes, and the use of loose salt in food preparation.
 
The National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate carried out an inspection at the 'Cheragi Restaurant' in Cheragi Pahar Mor this afternoon. 

The operation was overseen by the deputy director of the department Mohammad Faiz Ullah.
 
Upon entering the Cheragi Restaurant, he noted that the state of the kitchen was extremely poor. In addition to the unsanitary conditions, various sizes of cockroaches were observed crawling throughout the kitchen. 

Furthermore, the use of loose salt in food preparation was found to be in violation of regulations. The deputy director remarked, "This hotel owner has previously been fined three times."
