CHATTOGRAM, Aug 23, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested eight people including 3 accused named in the case's First Information Report (FIR) of Mohammad Sakib's (24) murder at Chandgaon in the Chattogram metropolitan area.

A R M Mozaffar Hossain, Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7 came up with the development in the case. 

Mozaffar said that among the eight arrested are the accused listed as numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the case's FIR.

RAB said that after the murder, surveillance on the accused began based on intelligence information. They were later arrested following an operation.

On Wednesday evening, Sakib was critically injured after being stabbed by miscreants in the Chandgaon area. He was taken to Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital around 7:15 pm, where the attending physician declared him dead.

Sakib was the son of Najum Uddin, residing in the CMB Atgachtala area under Chandgaon police station.
