Two arrested with illegal drugs and goods in Puthia

RAJSHAHI, Aug 23, 2026 (BSS) - Two people have been arrested by RAB in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi along with various types of medicine, stolen goods and mobile recharge cards.

A team of CPSC of RAB-5 conducted the operation in Dhopapara Mohanpur area of the upazila on Saturday night.
 
The arrested persons are Mizanur Rahman, 25, of Dhopapara Mohanpur village and Mithun Ali, 33, of Dhopapara Jiupara village. 

RAB said that Mithun Ali used to sell stolen medicine and other goods from his grocery shop in Dhopapara market.
 
In a press release from RAB-5 this afternoon, it was informed that on Saturday afternoon, RAB came to know that illegal drugs and various stolen goods were stored at Mithun Ali's shop in Dhopapara market and at Mizanur Rahman's house in Dhopapara village. 

Later, around 6 pm, an operation was conducted at Mizanur's house and he was detained.
 
During the operation, 20 Tapentadol tablets, 19 Neupomax Filgrastim BP 30 MU/0.5 ml injections, 21 Genim Cefepime 1 gram injections, 24 packets of DD Blue Powder 100 grams, 98 Monolorin Water Soluble Powder, 80 packets of Rhizome 50 WP, 13 packets of Legend Boron Boric Acid, six bottles of Win Run Brake Oil, six packets of Biomin Aquaboost, eight packets of Rizeb 72 WP, 18 bottles of Gismo Vet Syrup and 18 packets of Netsul 80 WDG were recovered from his house.
 
In addition, four packets of black pins, two packets of black uniform cloth, three large thread reels, two pairs of gumboots, 24 kg of transparent poly packs with tip buttons, an HP Core i5 laptop with charger, 182 mobile SIM cards of various companies and 389 sheets of mobile recharge cards were recovered.

RAB said each recharge card is worth 29 Taka and with 10 cards per sheet, the total value is Taka 1 lakh 12 thousand 810.
 
Five button mobile phones of various companies, a blue industrial lithium-ion mini cut-off tool with charger and two hammers were also recovered in the operation.
 
On the other hand, around 7:30 pm, an operation was conducted at Mithun Ali's own grocery shop in Dhopapara market, Puthia. 

At that time, 399 litres of stolen fortified soybean oil and 498 pieces of Ruta Res 100 ml growth promoter syrup were recovered from the shop.

RAB said Mithun Ali had been selling these stolen goods to the general public from his shop.
 
And under the leadership of Mizanur Rahman, an inter-district theft gang had been stealing goods from moving trucks at various times using different tactics and later selling them. 

There are multiple cases against him in various police stations across the country.
 
RAB said that a regular case has been filed against the two at Puthia police station under the Narcotics Control Act and relevant sections of the Penal Code in connection with the recovery of illegal drugs and other goods.

They were sent to jail through the court on Sunday.
