SIRAJGANJ, Aug 15, 2026 (BSS) - Spray machines were distributed free of cost among 97 marginal farmers and sewing machines among 46 poor and disadvantaged women trained in tailoring in Kazipur upazila of the district today.
The initiative was taken under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) of Kazipur Upazila Parishad to support agricultural production and help the trained women become self-reliant.
Sirajganj-1 (Kazipur) constituency lawmaker Md Selim Reza distributed the machines among the beneficiaries as the chief guest at the upazila parishad auditorium this morning.
Kazipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Mostafizur Rahman presided over the programme.
Among others, former Kazipur Upazila BNP general secretary and former mayor Md Abdus Salam, Kazipur Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Shariful Islam, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Chitra Rani Saha and BNP leader Advocate Robiul Alam attended the programme as special guests.
The initiative is expected to assist marginal farmers in increasing agricultural productivity while creating income-generating opportunities for disadvantaged women through tailoring.
