KHULNA, Aug 15, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Coast Guard, in separate drives in Nalian Bazar and adjoining areas of Doyanir Gate in Dacope upazila of the district, arrested two illegal meat traders and recovered 45 kilograms of venison.

Coast Guard media officer Lt Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon disclosed the information in a press release sent to the media at noon today.

The drives were conducted by a team from Coast Guard Outpost Nalian from 11:30pm to midnight on Friday based on secret information.

The arrested persons and the seized meat were handed over to the Nalian Forest Office for legal action.

The Coast Guard said such drives would continue to prevent the killing and trafficking of wildlife in the Sundarbans.
