KHULNA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna City Corporation (KCC) today launched a crash programme to control mosquitoes and contain dengue in the city.

KCC Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju inaugurated the programme at Government Sundarban Adarsha College, Dilkhola Road and Government Teachers’ Training College.

Speaking at the inauguration, Manju urged city residents to keep their homes and surroundings clean and cooperate with KCC to prevent dengue.

He said the mosquito-control operation has been intensified from today as part of all-out efforts to tackle the dengue situation.

KCC’s 31 wards have been divided into three zones, with committees headed by the KCC secretary, chief engineer and chief revenue officer respectively to supervise the activities.

KCC Chief Executive Officer Rajib Ahmed, Chief Engineer Mashiuzzaman Khan, Secretary Md Reza Rashid, Chief Revenue Officer Rahima Sultana Bushra, Chief Waste Management Officer Md Anisur Rahman, Chief Planning Officer Abir-ul-Jabbar, Executive Engineers Bidyut Kumar Das and Sheikh Md Masud Karim, Chief Health Officer Dr Sharif Shammul Islam and Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Imran, among others, were present.
