NETROKONA, Aug 8, 2026 (BSS) - A fire that broke out at Boro Bazar in Netrokona Sadar

upazila last night was brought under control in the early hours of today, gutting six

shops and a residential house.

The fire originated in the Khasimahal area of Boro Bazar around 9:00pm, said a press

release issued by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) this morning.

Majumdar Electronics and several adjacent shops caught fire initially.

On receiving the information, personnel of Netrokona Battalion (31 BGB), with the

assistance of Fire Service personnel and local people, brought the fire under control

after 2:00am.

Majumdar Electronics, Suchitra Toy House and four other shops, along with a residential

house, were gutted in the fire.

During the incident, BGB personnel assisted in firefighting and rescue operations and

ensured security of nearby shops, establishments and goods, said the release.
