Filling station fined Tk 30,000 in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Aug 3, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court today penalised a fuel filling 
station in Rangpur Taka 30,000 for providing less than 140 ml of octane per 
every 10 liters to the common consumers.
 
"The Rangpur Divisional Office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing 
Institution (BSTI) and district administration conducted the drive," said a 
BSTI press release issued here this evening.
 
Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of Rangpur district 
administration Tanzina Kabir and Kazi Md Shahan jointly led the mobile court.
 
The court fined Messer's City Filling Station at the Bangladesh Bank 
Intersection of the city Taka 30,000 under section 29/46 of the Weights and 
Measures Act 2018 for providing less than 140 ml of octane per every 10 
liters.
 
In another raid, the court encouraged Messer's Tajiz Foods Industries Ltd and 
Al Medina Live Bakery at different places of the city to obtain Certification 
Marks (CM) License and Packaged Product Registration Certificate in favor of 
white bread and biscuit products. 
 
The BSTI prosecutors were Field Officer (CM) Marufa Begum, Inspectors 
(Metrology Md Almas Mia and Md Nasir Uddin of BSTI Divisional Office, 
Rangpur. 
 
"The Rangpur divisional BSTI office will continue such drives in the public 
interest," the release added.
