RAJSHAHI, Aug 2, 2026 (BSS)- Commissioner of Rajshahi Division, Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid said resistance against corruption must be built from the family itself and children must be taught honesty, morality and a sense of responsibility from an early age.
 
If educational institutions and families work together, it is possible to build a corruption-free generation. Such events with the participation of students will play an important role in bringing positive change in society.
 
He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the anti-corruption debate, essay and painting competition at Nanking Darbar Hall in the city today.
 
A total of 200 students from eight secondary-level educational institutions of the metropolitan area participated in the competition jointly organized by the Integrated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Metropolitan Corruption Prevention Committee.
 
Among them, a total of 17 were awarded in the debate, essay and painting competitions. In addition, consolation prizes were given to all participating students.
 
The event was presided over by Md. Tanvir Ahmed Siddiqui, Assistant Director of the Integrated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Rajshahi.
 
The welcome speech was delivered by Ehsanul Huda Dulu, General Secretary of the Metropolitan Corruption Prevention Committee.
 
At the time, Professor Md. Humayun Kabir, Director of Secondary and Higher Education, Rajshahi Region, and Toufiqur Rahman Lablu, President of the Metropolitan Corruption Prevention Committee, spoke as special guests while the program was conducted by Abdur Rokon Masum, member of the Metropolitan Corruption Prevention Committee.
 
Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Deputy Assistant Director of the Integrated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission, was present.
 
Awsaf Nahian Adib, a student of Rajshahi Collegiate School, was selected as the best speaker in the corruption prevention debate competition.
 
Expressing his feelings, he said, ‘This achievement has inspired me to be more responsible. I want to use the power of logic to create awareness against corruption. In the future too, I will speak in favor of honesty and morality.’
 
Mehrima Hasan Aroni, a student of River View Collectorate School, secured first place in the painting competition.
 
She said, ‘I tried to highlight the harmful aspects of corruption through my painting and feeling very good securing the first place. This recognition will encourage me more to do social awareness work in the future,’ she asserted.
