RANGPUR, Aug 26, 2026 (BSS) - Various religious organizations are observing the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi in the city today with a renewed call to follow the ideals of the world's greatest man, Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
 
Islamic Foundation, Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, Gausia Committee Bangladesh, Ashrafiya Chishtia Qadria, Nasirabad Ekramia Mahbubia and Nasirabad Darbar Sharif, Barkotia Darbar Sharif and different mosque authorities chalked out programmes.
 
These organisations brought out colorful Eid-e-Miladunnabi processions on the city streets and organised discussions marking the day.
 
Later, a discussion was arranged at the Public Library ground in the city with Per Saheb of Barkotia Durbar Sharif Peer-e Tariakt Shah Ahammad Sayeed Ahammadi in the chair.

Khatib of Rangpur Court Jam-e-Mosque Alhaj Moulana Md Hafizul Islam, Imam of Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque Hafez Moulana Mohammad Tazul Islam, among others, addressed.
 
Later, a milad and doa mahfil was arranged and munajats offered seeking continuous peace and prosperity of the country and its people and the Muslim Ummah and humanity as a whole.
 
Another milad and doa mahfil followed by discussion and offering special munajats were arranged at District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center here marking the Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi.
 
The speakers discussed in detail the life philosophy of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), his contribution to human welfare and the teachings of Islam of peace, equality and brotherhood. 
 
They said that the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on earth was an immense grace of Allah Almighty for the entire mankind. 
 
Through his arrival, humanity found a way out of the darkness of ignorance, superstition and injustice. 
 
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) established justice, fairness and human values in the society through his sacrifice, struggle, honesty and great character. 
 
Under his presence and guidance, the dark era of ignorance was transformed into a great era in human history. 
 
They also mentioned that there is no alternative to following the ideals of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to establish peace and harmony in the present world. 
 
At this time, the devout Muslims expressed deep respect and love for the Prophet (PBUH) and prayed for peace, prosperity and welfare of the country, nation and Muslim Ummah. 
 
A large number of people from different classes and professions, including leaders of local religious, social and cultural organizations, were present at the event.
 
Marking the day, Quran recitation, milad mahfils, discussions on Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and special prayers are being organized in the mosques across the city.
