KHULNA, July 23, 2026 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) personnel arrested a man along with a foreign-made pistol and two rounds of ammunition during a raid on the city's Khalishpur area today.

The arrestee was identified as Mostafa Kamal, 48, son of Abdul Khaleq, a resident of AB Siddique Lane in Baikali Bazar, said DB of Khulna Metropolitan police (KMP). 

Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Detective Police Md. Ahaduzzaman Mia confirmed the arrest, saying a DB team conducted the raid at Siddique Lane adjacent to Baikali Bazar under Khalishpur Police Station following a tip-off.

During the operation, detectives recovered a foreign-made pistol and two rounds of ammunition from the suspect's residence, he said.

Police are interrogating the suspect, and a case will be filed against him under the Arms Act, the DB official added.
