DHAKA, July 23, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister's Adviser and his Office Spokesperson Mahdi Amin today said that the government is committed to increasing foreign investment and creating a more conducive business environment in the country.

“The government aims to create an investment-friendly environment that will generate new employment opportunities while reducing the cost of doing business and opening up new avenues for trade facilitation,” he said.

Speaking at the FDI Conference 2026 titled "Accelerating Foreign Investment for Employment and Prosperity in Bangladesh," organized by the Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center here this afternoon, he made the remarks.

Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the conference as the chief guest. 

He said the government has simplified decision-making process by reducing bureaucratic complexities and accelerating the work of multiple ministries which resulted in both the public and the business community to benefit.

The recently announced people-friendly and business-friendly budget reflects those efforts, he noted.

Describing foreign investors as ‘Brand Ambassadors of Bangladesh’,he said investors are not only conducting business but are also promoting the "Made in Bangladesh" slogan on the global stage. 

He said the government intends to establish a permanent platform for continuous dialogue between the business community and policymakers so that the views of entrepreneurs are reflected in policy formulation.

Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, State Minister for Land Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, FICCI President Rupali Haque Chowdhury, BIDA Chairman Ashik Chowdhury, and around 600 local and foreign investors, policymakers and diplomats attended the conference.
