NARSINGDI, July 18, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Joint Secretary General and Narsingdi-1 (Sadar) lawmaker Khairul Kabir Khokon today said the BNP-led government has initiated implementation of nearly 80 percent of its election manifesto within four months of assuming office.
He said the government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has launched several key programmes, including the Family Card, Farmers' Card and Health Card, as part of its election commitments.
"There is no example anywhere in the world of implementing an election manifesto within just four months. We are moving towards fulfilling nearly 80 percent of our election commitments," Khokon said after offering prayers at the grave of Tahmid Bhuiyan, the first martyr from Narsingdi during the 2024 July Uprising.
He said the country is now enjoying a democratic environment.
He also warned against attempts to create political instability outside parliament, saying people would not accept efforts to turn "non-issues" into political issues.
Among others, Narsingdi Zila Parishad Administrator and District BNP Vice-President Tofazzal Hossain Masterm and Tahmid Bhuiyan's father Rafiqul Islam Bhuiyan were present.
