BARISHAL, July 18, 2026 (BSS) - Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested a man with 1000 contraband yaba tablets from a passenger bus in Baiddyopara on the Dhaka-Barishal highway last night.

The arrestee was Md Zihad Sarker, 24, son of Sabuj Sarder of Adhona village in Gouranadi upazila of the district.

On a tip-off, a team of DNC raided a Barishal-bound passenger bus named ‘Golden Line’ in the area and arrested Zihad with 1,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets.

A case has been filed in this connection.
